The combination of academia and indsutry gives Team CIMAR a strong group to design and implement the Navigator vehicle for the 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge.
The Eigenpoint Company has the lead in automating the base vehicle. This includes the design of the power distribution system, the air conditioned enclosure, and the actuation systems.
Autonomous Solutions Inc., via their Mobius software, provides mission planning capabilities for the system. They also have developed a unique rotating ladar sensor that provides three dimensional range images for use in obstacle avoidance.
The University of Florida develops algorithms for vehicle control, situational assessment, and environment sensing and modeling. They also serve as system integrator for the project.
Together Team CIMAR will develop a strong entry for the October 2005 event.
